Default Pressure Sprayers?

So what kind of pressure sprayers are you guys using? I'm looking into getting one and was looking for some advice? I'm using a garden how with a traditional spray nozzle, and it works ok, but I'm guessing reclaiming the screens would be faster with a pressure sprayer.

Question: does a high pressure sprayer make your aluminum screens lose their tension faster?

#2: How much pressure do you use to wash out your design? I've found that too much pressure (even from a water hose) can damage a stencil.

thanks

Rusty, by all means get a pressure washer to reclaim screens. Keep the garden hose for washing out images after a burn.
Emulsion will stick to your screens even if you can't see it. After a few washes with a hose, it will go from a 156 to a 230. Soon, you won't be able to use it because it's plugged up with the crap that will never wash out by then. And it will not hurt your screens with pressure...at least, no more than from regular printing stresses.

So where do I get one and how powerful does it need to be? Do I get one at a screen printing supply, or some place like Home Depot?

Home Depot, Lowes, where ever is close to you. Just get one that has very strong pressure. The electric washers are pretty good, but a gas powered washer has some muscle. That's what you need for removing all the emulsion residue off the screen. Mine is a Karcher 2,500 PSI. It'll clean all the dirt outta washington DC. LOL. Your screens will work for you longer if you get one. Maybe not a Karcher, but one with the kind of power.

I use a 1400 psi and it works phenomenal. Cheap and the perfect amount of power.

I would think you would want electric if you are indoors. The 1300/1400 psi washers are good enough. I had bought a couple and they broke down over prolonged use, so I spent the big bucks (over $1,000) on a heavy duty electric pressure washer. Never had a problem since. But like I said, the plastic ones work fine.

I agree. We bought a cheap $150 one from Lowes to use as a back up and it broke after a couple of days use.

I went to a local pressure washer store and got a great industrial one for around $500. havent had any issues and have had it for about 3 years now. On average we reclaim around 20-40 screen daily
