Default Extending water-based inks?

Is it possible to extend water-based inks? The black ink I have is very 'liquid' compared to the white ink and other colours. This means I find it very easy to print with the black but a lot harder with the others.

I know you can use Soft Hand Extender for plastisols, but is there a water-based equivalent?

Yes, there is a base extender. Or you can mix in some water (within reason).

where can I find this base extender? I'm assuming it takes a different kind of extender than what is used for Plastisol inks. We're having a terrible time with our water based white ink drying on the screen.

As for spraying the water bottle on the screen, do you typically spray before or after flooding?

do not use plastisol extender with your waterbased inks.

you can easily extend your ink with water and a few drops of glycerin. you must mix them well, using a drill mixer (jiffy mixer) is preferred.

as for ink drying in the screen, i just posted something relevant elsewhere but will duplicate the info here:

if you want some cheap quick fixes to make you ink stay wet longer, here is my list:

1) close doors and windows, turn off fans. air flow sucks the water out of your ink.

2) keep a fine misting spray bottle filled with water on-hand. finely mist the screens every dozen prints or so.

3) go get some glycerin and add a few drops of it to your ink and mix very well. you can also add some water into the ink at the same time before you start printing.

and how much do I put in? A few drops per how much ink?

This doesn't have a negative impact on the quality of the print?

glycerin can be had at most drug stores or supermarkets. you may find it in the baking aisle.

as for how much, you'll probably use trial and error to find out what works best. 2% is probably a good starting point.

I read somewhere last night that you can mix the glycerin with water into a spray bottle, that seems to work pretty well.

Thanks so much for the advice.
