Default need help printing on hoody sweatshirt

hey guys, I'm just looking to see if any of you have some good insight on how to print on a full-zip hoody. I'm trying to put my design front and center (right over the chest) it's kinda hard though, because the zipper part holds the screen up just a little too far, the result is a bunch of ink coming thru the screen. It LOOKS cool to have the ink that thick. . . but I couln't cure it without burning the hell out of the hoody (which is what I ended up doing. . . but, I still think it looks cool.) have any of you done this and done it well. . . if so, I'm in your debt! thanks

Skyler,

I think that you can buy a special printing platen or pallet that has a groove in the middle so that the zipper can drop down and the whole front of the hoodie will be even.

Something like this:

Zipper Hoodie Pallets

I usually unzip them and lay the sides together with the zipper flat on the pallette. That gives me more of an even surface.

you might also want to try rigging something up - maybe taking two flat pieces of cardboard modifying your platen so you can have a little channel in the middle. It might be kind of cheap, but I've heard of people doing this.
