Contracting your work to a printer until you can save to purchase good equipment is the best option and will free you up to sell more and design more You might even find that your doing well enough so as to stay contracting it out. I do contract work for lots around the country and some have been with me for 5-6 years now.
If it's just a few, PhotoEZ might be the way to go. But if you are going to need at least 25 or more, it will probably be much more cost effective to outsource the screenprinting. The more shirts you get printed, the cheaper it will be.
Plus, like Fluid said, you can always invest the profit in good equipment later on.
id like to be able to do as many as the demand requires!
the only problem with outsourcing is the extra expense of having to get designs printed onto different sizes, where as if i did it myself id be able to do it as they were needed, plus even offer the option of printing onto colour the the customer wants.
Its tough for sure but if you hook up with a good printer, get the contract pricing you should have no issues as long as you cover all your costs. With contract printing you supply the printer with the art and shirts (good) they do the printing at a lower print rate than if you just gave them the art. You get to mark up the cost of the shirt, charge for art and mark up the printing a tad.

arghhh... i just cant decide
In that case, screenprinting may not be what you are looking for.
If you want to do "on demand" on many different colors of shirts, the best thing would probably be to get a heat press and some plastisol transfers.
i am gonna try ezphoto, i have a speedball kit and it works ok. i'm getting better at actually centering the screen on the shirt. might be a stupid question but what is a platten?
