Default Does anyone have a suggestion for Sticky floors??

After running about 200 shirts today at the end of the night I noticed my floor was very sticky and is starting to develop a build up of textile adhesive. So I tried using 305 Press wash from Lawsons to clean it up. Now I have a dangerously slippery floor that feels oily. Does anyone have a suggestion for a better way to clean up this residue? My floor is laminate faux wood.

Use Kerosene instead.

Don't use spray adhesive. We use a water based glue and roll it on with a small paint roller. You will have to cover your pallets with a wide masking tape but in the long run is easier to to clean up and cost about 1/3 as much. No over spray either.

Hi Rat

Here's a couple of less oily options that use D-limonene (citrus solvent), are recommended for removing pallet adhesive, and are not flammable:
Franmar Chemical - Environmentally Friendly Cleaners and Removers

TS-305 PRESS WASH - Chemical Consultants Inc

They conveniently "ball up" the adhesive residue, rather than dissolving it for easier clean-up.

You should also investigate a sample of non-aerosol pallet adhesive or adhesive pallet-mask as viable alternatives to spray adhesives.

Happy trails!

break down a cardboard boxes and toss on the floor under your print station it will abosorb the spray adheasive before it hits the floor and best of all its cheap and easily replaceable ... as per your current flooring good luck!

Thank you all for your help. I covered my work area with butcher paper. When it gets to sticking I can change it really easy. Thank you everyone!!

Just another solution, try Simple Green - it's a citrus based household cleaner that gets rid of everything.

Ditch the spray adhesive, the waterbased adhesive is better in every aspect that matters in a textile adhesive. No mess, no breathing in of the spray, no tack on your arm hairs, etc. Also, the wb stuff will last 10 times longer before adding more. We routinely do 600-800 shirts on our auto with one application, and I've heard claims of over 1000.
