help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
I need help. I just started printing on some baby ribbed shirts and they look like crap. The ink looks like it is lifting and giving the shirt a funny texture. Is my ink too thick? Do I need to add a strech additive? This is a four color design and I have a sample shirt the business gave me on the same type of shirts and they look great. Any help is greatly appreciated..
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
Maybe this is due to the recesses in the ribbed fabric are pulling additional ink thru the screen once the screen is lifted. This probably explains the odd texture? Is it safe to assume you're using plastisol? I'd like to know the best way as well to screen print on ribbed & thermal long sleeve tees as well

No not really they r all plus size. It looks like fuzz do i need to wash or dry my garments first? I know that's a dumb question but I was never told that when I started.
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
how much off contact do you have?
if you dont have enough off contact...when you lift the screen itwill make the ink look textured......also how tight are the screens...and what mesh count are the screens?
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
im not exactly sure on the contact. I have 2 pennies taped to each screen. the screens seem tightand they are all 160 mesh. But from what Ive read on other posts last night i think my off contact might be the problem. ause i have had alot of sticking problems.. what is the best way to adjust the off contact or teasure how mush you have?
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
depending on the press you have ..there should be some off contact adjustment knobs or bolts behind the screen clamps......do you have a pic of the press?
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
I found them I just dont kow exactly how high they should be. it seems like they sag in the front so no matter how high the off contact is closest to the clamps the other end of the screen sags down??? Also im doing sweatshirts so does the off contact on those need to be different than these baby ribbed shirts??
Re: help!!! printing 4 color design on bella baby ribbed shirts
you need to make sure the screen is level from the clamps end to the end where you stand...then set your off contact to about 2 pennies high...at least thats what I set my off contact to when I print hoodies.
