i am trying to look for more information on this printing process. from artwork to separating. i have corelx4 and photoshop7. is there anyone that teaches this like hands on or in a class. thanks.
If you are planning on doing simulated process, I would highly recommend using a separation program like Spot Process Vuerite. You will be able to do separations much quicker with better results using fewer colors. The proram is easy to use making the learner curve much quicker as well
In addition to a color sep program (I use QuikSeps...excellent!) you will also need a RIP program for your halftones and a printer that is capable of printing them correctly. (like an Epson R1400, R1800, R1900, etc)
Do your homework, because it's mostly certain Epsons that these programs are written for (rip progams).
ok i have been beating my brains out trying to learn. i am determined. so i stayed up all night and been in front of my computer all day working. i burned my screens and lined everything up and tried my first printof this process. i know its not perfect but i feel like its christmas morning and im 5 again, when did this came out of the dryer. i just put some images together so i can just practice. i am really interested in doing some other colors. i made this cause i knew the colors were easy to separate. the Eternal video tutorials is what helped as well as the ryonet ones. printing this to vellums was the hardest. i made everything in photoshop and saved, and imported it into corel to print. i know this is probably not the correct way but im still learning. thanks for the help. i still wanna learn more so thanks for all the help.
Keep in mind that you can have problems using vellum because it suffers from shrinkage. When it's something less complicated, you can get away with vellum, but if you want to get into more complex printing, you'll definitely want to use film.
Congrats on your test print
