Default CMYK on Darks...

So i have a cmyk process print using pastisol ink on my press right now. it comes out perfect on whites, but i do a white underlay for the dark shirts and lose definition..it seems to me that the ink is soaking into the white shirt and giving me the color i want when it blends into the material. on the black shirts its sitting on top of the underlay and puddling together not looking nearly as nice as the white shirts. i tryed flashing between colors and it helped a bit-but not much and takes alot of time too. tryed changing up pressures and passes several differnt ways.. but if i only go with one pass it looks faded...
is there a special ink for underlays that im not using? am i just flashing my underlay too long? any other ideas on how to fix this problem?

it maybe the under base but there's also printing technique that comes into play here. Printing on to white fabric without the under base is allot easier and forgiving then printing on the white base. When printing on the flashed white base you will need to adjust your technique, you don't want any bleeding. You want to have a very clean print and minimal ink deposit. Using a sharp hard squeegee will help, off contact helps and so does a quicker pass, no flooding.

Applying the process with and without underbases will give you different result. Absolutely the print with the white underbase will give you a dull-faded print.
