Default Screen Printing Classes

These forums are always full of people trying to get started in the printing business and they are starting from scratch and don't know where to begin.

I would like to suggest taking Terry Combs's(terrycombs.com) screen printing class: Welcome

I've been doing direct to garment printing for a couple years now and knew very little about screen printing so I took this class over the weekend. It was a full 2 days with lots of hands on to get you going.

Hope this helps some of you.

Andy

Good suggestion, Andy

It's great that there are so many basic training programs out there to choose from, compared to the few that used to exist in the past.

It's also convenient to have so much video training online in a shared format.

I've also found that many local and regional suppliers offer custom training for those looking to get into the commercial screen printing business.
Sometimes, all you need to do is ask.

I'm curious, as a DTG (direct-to-garment) printer, are you considering getting into the screen printing side of decoration?

Happy trails!

Thanks Andy,

I've been looking for some classes in my area...and thus far nothing. I will check this company out. I've been outsourcing all of my screen print work until I master this craft.

Tom,

We aren't diving totally into screen printing. We have our DTG printing services but the main reason we got into printing was to supply shirts for our motorcycle event websites. We now have some of the designs selling higher numbers and will get some savings if we screen print them.

The numbers don't really work out as well if we have someone else do the screen printing so we are going to try to do them inhouse.

Hi Muneca

I'm not that familiar with the midwest marketplace, but I've heard good things about the training program from these folks:
Screen Printing & Digital Classes, silk screen training and course listing

Of course, many on this forum would offer this as an option also:
Screen Printing Classes in the Midwest (see dates)

Best of luck in your investigation of our versatile process!
