Make sure you have TONS of samples of your work.. Everything from single color to multi color (plus any kind of specialty effects you do (foil, distressed, vintage, etc).
Make it open and not cluttered. Make sure it's welcoming and well laid out.
A showroom is exactly what it says it is.. A room to show what you can do!! I'd suggest putting as much detail and time into it as you can. After all, it's all about image right?
Funny you bring this topic up. We had a customer come and pick up an order earlier today and comment on how clean and "tranquil" our shop appeared. We spend 1 hour every monday cleaning, before we start production or answer phones. The front of our store is not the best show area but stays clean and neat. We have samples of prints we have done, types of shirts we recommend, sizes for these shirts, and embroidery samples. On the desk we have catalogs, a computer and a few nick nacks. Thats it. Maybe some others will post pics.

Man, is the closet of death in that pic.........................You know the one you open and stuff flies out at a high rate of speed, lands across the street.................lol.........heheh......
We are looking to remodel our showroom - shrinking it to make more room for production. Do any of the distributors offer any assistance in layout? Or are there industry experts that can help with a layout?
Matt,
I do retail and production layout designs. I was a contractor for 20 years and hold vertical and horizontal licenses in FL & VA. I semi-retired last year and decided to expand wife's embroidery shop into screen printing and vinyl.
PM me some details of what you are looking for (size of space, production capabilities, # of employees, etc) and I can give you an estimate. If it works for you then we can chat on the phone in more detail.

We have a small spare room that we use as a show room in our GA facility. We used gridwall and set it up on the perimeter of the room and then hung our products on it with signs telling what was what. Worked nicely for us.
