I've done some transfer printing. I used Union inks with the Mixo-Trans additive. Ran it on Trans-French paper and added unilon powder before the gel. They turned out excellent. The cure time took a bit of experimenting, but I ran mine at 175 degrees for about 45 seconds. I used this method for 2000 sleeping bags and 1000 polyester blankets.

Thanks for the info. Is there a reason you used both powder and the gel? I thought you use one or the other.
you can also mix 10% of the fine (like Flour) Powder into
the Plastisol - for 2 reason: your ink will be more opak
and you dont have all the hazzle with the fine powder!
If your ink will be to thick, just add a little bit of reducer
(no plastizicer!)
you can also add 10% of softpuff additive and you will get
a flexible Transfer! use a cold peel paper!
Can't resist adding more options and clarifications.......
Union Ultrasoft Series Ink with 15% Foil Transfer Base FOIL-9200P added and cured at 230F to dry touch works too.
As stated, ULON-2159 Fine Foil Adhesive Powder can also be mixed in instead.
MITR-9090 Union Mixotrans Extender Base also works well as suggested.
The idea is to impart a transfer adhesive formula into the ink to allow some elbow room in handling and heat press settings from gel cure to final transfer.
All can be "dusted" prior to partial cure with ULON-2027 Medium Fine Adhesive Powder
for a more dependable and insured heat transfer bond,
or if someone else will be doing the final heat transfer with marginal equipment,
or if the surface texture of the item is rough or patterned,
or you're destined for poly surfaces as was Matt.
Quick-trans paper is a good cold-peel stock, but many work.
Always pre-shrink if you're planning on multiple color designs.

Sorry, I should clarify what I wrote. I meant I added the unilon powder before the gel cure.
As others stated, you can add the powder directly to the ink but since most of my companies need in transfers is decorating oddball items we can't physically print (like sleeping bags or poly blankets) I've found adding the powder to the uncured transfer gives better adhesion then directly adding it into the ink.
