Default Right light bulb for exposure unit

Hi there,

I am building my first exposure box for screen printing (got tired of hanging a 500W halogen light, gets too hot and its a hit and miss with detail designs). Its going to be roughly 5 by 2.5 feet, 30 inches tall. Just have a couple of question for any more experienced screen printers out there willing to help (and thankfully theres plenty of you in this site):

1. The height from the glass to the lights will end up at some 22 inches or so, I am placing 6 lights next to each other. Will this be enough?
2. The bulb in question to buy...I have seen some bulbs for growing plants in my local walmart (they are not black lights, they are white). Will these work? Here's the model I am talking about:

I appreciate any help/comments you may have,

Thanks!

Max.

Default Re: Right light bulb for exposure unit

I'm currently building a light box using 1000w Metal Halide bulb.
I bought a ballast kit from ballastkit.com that contained the 1000w bulb, ballast and mogul socket for $169 including shipping.
From what I have read, this will make an excellent exposure unit that will support nice halftones and clean crisp edges.

Cheers,

Tracy
