There are some emulsions that are extremely sensitive and will burn in 10-15 seconds. If you are using one of those... I would keep them in the dark. I used to be really picky about keeping screens in dark or safelight until I started touring other facilities. I've seen places that have no darkroom at all, they coat, dry, and burn out in the open and screens are exposed to regular fluorescent lights for hours before they are actually exposed in an exposure unit. They never have any problems with washout. Toss a black plastic bag over it if you are worried. |
