Default Can I patch a screen with new Emulsion?

So I have a screen burned with a dual cure emulsion that has some holes in it (not near the design). I could use block-out or tape but I was wondering; why couldn't I just patch it with some new emulsion? I'm gonna be coating a new screen anyway. Has anyone done this?

I've done it with no ill effects. I cover pinholes with a toothpick, etc, and throw it under the light for a while.

I always try to hit both sides, so that they are bonded across the mesh. Don't know if it's necessary though.

I did it once just to try it. I would not do it again as it takes way to long and is not worth the time and hassle when tape works just fine for me.

Just put a dab on the shirt side of the screen and let it dry, or dry it with a hair dryer, that is what I do. I don't believe exposing it is necessary, unless you are doing a pretty huge run.

Really? Seems like I could just put a little on the holes then leave it to dry in the sun - easy. What took so long, you mean the drying time?

I done this also...it does take a little while to dry though...I use tape also..but had some old emulsion and thought I would try to plug pinholes..works well ....dry time is killer if your in a hurry.

Yeah... I can put tape on in about 30 seconds, drying the emulsion takes a few and then you have to expose it. I do most of my work at night and little things like this take up time I can be printing. This is just my preference and patching works fine if you want to take the time to do it.
