I am screenprinting water based inks onto american apparel shirts. I have been using speedball inks and the results turn out very sharp and perfect as far as the artwork goes. However since the shirt is so thin and the ink is so thick the print is weighing down the shirt more than Id like too.
I heard nazdar inks had more of a soft feel to them. I want my shirt to be soft as possible on the artwork without changing from water based inks. Also I heard something like you could add softener to the inks? Has anyone experimented? thanks!! | | | | | |
Your ink deposit may be resulted too thick on your garment because:
1. The ink may be too dense, try mixing some binder to reduce viscosity of the ink.
2. Your screen maybe too coarse causing too much ink deposit onto your garment, try to use fine mesh to control less ink deposit, and also use a sharp squeegee.
I am not so sure adding softener will make your ink soft-feel but it will surely neutralize chemical odor from your ink.
