Default What equipment do I need to make a simple 2 color print?

I am going to be printing a simple 2 color print for a friend of mine and i'm not too familiar with doing anything more than one color. i'm unsure of what relatively cheap equipment to use to make sure the two colors line up as they are supposed to.. any help is much appreciated.

Are you looking to buy a multi-color press or just modify what you have now? If you're looking to buy, I know Ryonet has a 2 color press (silkscreensupplies.com). If you're going the homebuilt route, I got a lot of ideas from printingplans.com and posts on this forum. Hope this helps.

thanks...

would something like this work though?

Professional Grade Screen Printing Units - BLICK art materials

if i make sure that when im exposing the two seperate screens that the designs line up exactly, then i can just put the first color on, take that screen out and then put the other screen in and do the second color

this is probably gonna be a one time thing and it's a run of only 25, so the ryonet is a bit out of my price range for right now, and i don't really have the time to build one.

I've never tried that approach. You'd definitely want a design that would allow for a little slop. Good luck!

true, it's a relatively simple image with text and a design in the middle.. i know you haven't tried it, but from your expeirence with two color prints do you think it would be possible to do?

I get pretty close to dead on just by looking through the screen to the test print below when I'm lining everything up. So, it seems like this should work, just sounds labor intensive. Also, I use registration marks for alignment and tape them off after I'm satisfied, but you wouldn't be able to do that with this method, or you'd have unwanted cross hairs on every shirt you make. Hopefully someone will post who's tried this before to give you some insight.
