Default How do you know how to tell if your shirts are cured?

So I am putting new parts into my conveyor dyer. I was wondering what the best way to tell if I am getting my shirts cured. I want to figure out how high I need to set the temperature of the dryer, how fast the belt needs to run and how hot my garments are getting.

I have seen temperature strips that you can put on a shirt. I have also seen temperature guns people use to tell the temperature.

What would you suggest, and where do you get your supplies?

Oh ya. I usually use plastisol inks, if that matters.

Thanks

Both are really good to figure that out although the gun is most recommended. The ggun can be found searching in hardware stores and the strips i have only seen online.
for your ink the temp should be around 320-330

one of the tests i do is stretch the cured tshirt design. the ink shouldn't crack when stretched. if it cracks that means it not fully cured.

Temp gun all the way mine came today £22. No more uncured shirts just done 50 t shirts using the gun. Saved me loads of time not guessing if they were cured or not, a must have in my opinion

I don't really worry to much mate about settings as soon as the temp of the ink is upto 320 to 340 i take it off. It takes around 20 to 25 seconds With my industrial ceramic flash dryer set about 6 to 8" on full heat above the t shirt. I just give it a quick shot with the temp gun around the design, thats it jobs a gud en.
No real setting up when its reached temp its reached temp, I can do around 50 to 55 single colour tees in an hour using the flash behind me flatout.

Less than two minutes with a temp gun.

If you're using a temp gun with a conveyor dryer, are you able to shoot the gun's temp "ray" into the dryer or do you hit it right when it comes out? My dryer seems to hit max temp about 12" before it leaves the hood, so if i temp it right when it comes out, its already cool off by a 5 or 10 degrees (F).

We start shooting the beam about 3 feet in and measure the temp until it reaches the end of the heat chamber.

Wow, so I've been playing around with the Harbour Freight gun that was recommended by others...

Apparantly, my donut thermocouple thermometer doesn't give accurate "instant" reads, and seems to run 5-10 seconds behind. This means I've been cooking my shirts at around 360-370 (F) for almost two years (!?!?!??!?!).

Wow @ Matt! I've overcooked some shirts before and had them sent back... We have an Economax II and measure about 10" in to get a good read on the shirt before we hit full production speed. Sometimes we have to send a test shirt through 5 or 6 times before we get the speed just right.
