has anyone tried using the epson 1100 workforce for printing film transparencies for screen printing? it has only 4 cartridges and is fairly cheap considering the prices of all the other wide format printers. The ink costs and printer costs would save a lot so id be curious if anyone has any input on this printer.

I'd like to know also because I still haven't opened the 1400 I bought. If I can save on Ink, I'll return it, and buy the 1100.

I wanted to know if the accurip would work with the 1100, but was told no.

I was told and told someone else that it had two "K" (black) cartridges for better black imaging( like for transparencies). I hope I didn't pass along bad information.

Here's another source that says it does. I'm going to buy one and try it just because they are $100 at fry's. Well worth a shot.

I think I just responded to your post in the heat press forum but in case nobody seen it there, here you go.

I just got done printing on transparency paper to try it out.
The 1100 does seem to be dark enough at the 1100's best photo setting. Or you could always double up 2 transparencies for absolute black.
It may be a while before I get around to exposing transparency but it should be fine.

I used Appolo quick-dry inkjet transparency film. This has a sensing strip for smooth feeding

This was very rewarding news to me since my c-120 wouldn't even print on transparency paper at all.

I'm very excited to hear the outcome as well. I actually haveone on order myself and am hoping that I can make a RIP work with it.

I was told that the rip would only work with 1400 and above, I would love the 1100 also. Does anyone know?

I just got mine yesterday. It seems to work just fine as far as printing on films. I just exposed a screen this morning and I didn't have any issues at all. As far as rip software compatibility, I don't know because I don't have a rip.
