i heard that if you make less than $600 bucks in a certain amount of time then you don't have to pay taxes.

You should be able to buy a business license and collect tax on anything that sells in your state then you send that once every 3 months to the department of revenue.Thats how we do it in florida.Hope this helps

I got my resellers permit from the Board Of Equalization for free. And I just pay the taxes I collect once a year. very easy to do.

every city and state has their own laws. Check them out or hire a lawyer to do it for you.

NO NO NO NO Lawyers!!!!!!! I hate lawyers!!! All they are are just a waste of hard earned $$$$. In California, got to your local Board Of Equalization office and fill out the resellers permit. Very Easy and they are more than willing to help you. You can probably get it in less than an hr. Once you get that call or go to your city call and ask them if you need a business license, It might be a small fee for very easy to get also. If your not going to use your name for your business then you might concider getting a DBA permit. The fee in CA is about $65 or so. This whole proccess is easy. PM me if you need help and or advice. BUT PLEASE NO LAWYERS!!!

I believe since you live in the great state of California, that you also have to get a Garment Decorator's Permit or some such nonsense as well.

I think you are confusing different types of taxes. You will need to check with your local offices for tax information since state to state is always different. That being said.....

You need a vendor's license or a state's license or both depending on your state laws. If you sell $10 in product retail, you must charge sales tax. Once again depending on your state and local municipalities, you need to file your state taxes. This could be monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, per half, or yearly. This tax must be paid regardless of how much your sold. If you did not collect sales tax, you still must file regardless.

The $600 rule, (I believe now $500), is government. You still need to claim it as sales on a Schedule C, but you don't owe taxes on it.

To add, in another board, california printers said that there was a $25,000 fine if you don't comply.

Big ouch

look up your city's or county's zoning laws because even in a commercial site, you'd be surprised as to what is and isn't allowed. all it takes is a nervous neighbor to shut you down...if you don't have you t's crossed and your i's dotted
