I want to try my hand at building my own press. I got the plans but I do not like how they use c-clamps to hold the screen in place. I want to know if anyone no the name of the screws that hold the screen in place and where can i pick up some. I tried thumb screws but the frame was too heavy for them and the screen keeps moving.
any help as always is much appreciated.
No not jiffy clamps. What I am referring to are the screws that are on professional made presses that keeps the screens locked down tight in the frame holder. They look like black knobs and you turn them until the frame is secured tight.
Anyone no where I can find these?
Like I said I made the DIY four color press. In these press plans to secure the screen they are using c-clamps. I am looking for an alternative.
Thanks for the help Pdpatch but still not what i am looking for I just need the screw part i have the frame holder. I will keep looking but thanks again for the replies.
I have an old press that had a bunch of these worn out. They can get you the knobs with shafts and the feet that go on the end of them (the piece that presses on the screen). Super cheap too!
You can get the welded nuts if you need them through fastenal.
