Discuss the different types of equipment needed for screen printing. Topics include manual screen printing presses, automatic presses, dryers, folding machines, starter kits and high end machines.
A few questions
1. What do you think of this unit?
2. The room I work In Is only 15amps, Can I run a heavy duty extension cord from a room with a dedicated outlet for the flash that Is about 20-20 feet away?
3. Once you find a height above the platen for curing do you always leave it set at that? I custom print my own 1 color designs which range In design sizes of 4x8" to 11x16" as my customers order them so I can easily print 1 shirt of 1 design 30 times or so a day. I would not want to constantly raise and lower the Flash accordingly.
It should be a good unit, it is from Ryonet. i cant answer you cord question. Yes, you can leave it at that height once you figure out how long it takes at the height to reach the right temp. ---------------- Now playing: Still Remains - I Can Revive Him With My Own Hands via FoxyTunes

I Run An Epson 1400 with and ALL Black CIS system and it WORKS!
I contacted the seller direct and he said using an extension cord would be ok. Would rather hear from printers who actually use an extension cord with their Flash dryers without any problems.
I have the same unit..well at least it looks like the same unit I use....I use an extension cord with mine with no problems , but im always raising and lowering the unit.
Has anyone had any problems with the platen warping when fully curing shirts? I would be curing anywhere from 30 - 70 shirts at a time. Could this be a problem with warping? Thanks!
do not cure your shirts on the shirt platen...take the shirt off and setup a table off press to cure the shirts.....the platen will warp after time .
yes ....depending on how the shirts are cureing..and how fast they are reaching the 320 temp required for curing plastisol ink...I raise or lower the flash accordingly.
We have, and we did do it on the press. We have seen some warping of the platens.
Another issue you will run into is that the platens get really hot over time (even on small runs), which can cause your ink to instantly cure and clog the screen.

Also remember that when you use an extension cord, use the correct amperage.. you know, you're breaker is 15 amps, so you don't want to use a cord that rated higher, like for a 20 amp, because that's where you would have an overheating/fire issue. You also don't want to use a cord that not rated to handle enough amps for your breaker.
Always use a heavy weight exterior grade cord.
I use an extension cord (construction grade) for my conveyor dryer. I run it to my laundry room that's 20 amps, I think....
And it works great! No problems what so ever.

I can't remember for sure, but, if you go to a Lowes hardware (or similar) ask someone in the electrical dept. that knows what they're talking about. That's what I did.
It seems to me that it's a 14 gauge that you want, but be sure.
