Newbie! What mesh do i use with ORANGE ink? Newbie
This is my first question so hang with me.
Im brand new at this and somewhat know what i'm doing but i wasn't sure if i should use a 110 or a 156 mesh with an orange ink. Didn't want to mess up a bunch of shirts, you understand.

My apologies for not replying quickly. Internet down at house. Ill post the artwork later today.
But so i'm clear, the more detail in the artwork, the higherr mesh count? And then it also depends on type of ink as well, like those with glitter, etc., uses a far lower mesh count.
Sorry for the beginner questions, but i'm starting from scratch. Thanks

question, what color are the shirts and what kind of ink are you using??
assuming light or white shirts and plastisol ink then:
156 is fine, but may give you unwanted fibrillation if you are using plastisol. yes higher mesh counts reproduce more detail, however if you print too little ink on light or white colored garments (i.e. higher mesh counts) then you risk a quality control often overlooked by many. a safer choice in my opinion based on your artwork and assuming you have a high quality positive and exposure system and emulsion would be a 125-140 mesh, more ink, less probability of fibrillation. a rougher hand yes, but in the scheme of things plastisol never gives a good soft hand without the risk of fibrillation.
wash testing your shirts will tell you what you need to know, then document the results. find what works for you and then stick to it.
