Vellum Exposure - Print Side Up or Down Hey all.
I know this is probably a real DUH question for some. But here goes...
I'm doing some larger size prints. Film was just TOO expensive for my "hobby" so I picked up some 11x17 vellum from the supplier.
I did a test tonight (you know where you expose small sections at a time). I found that for my setup 9 mins worked.
NOW...
I am unable to get a REALLY REALLY dark black with just one sheet of film or vellum. I back two up to give a darker black. I'm sure there are better ways but for now...that's what I have going on.
QUESTION...
I expose from the back side of the screen down. Image is backward. Just like many many other DIY setups.
Should I flip the vellum over so that the darkest side is facing down next to the screen. If I do that then I'll have to print the artwork backward (I think - yeah). Maybe it doesn't matter?
I also noticed that the vellum exposure was as sharp as it was with films. I don't think any one would notice unless you got RIGHT UP on the screen. I just notice that the corners and lines are as sharp.
Is that normal with vellum or could it be because I used two sheets?
Thanks again! |
