Default Rust Water from Compressor on Auto

I have a 80 gallon dual pump Ingersoll Rand compressor hooked up the my press. When I manually drain the drain valve, rust water comes out. It is normal for the compressor water to be rusty?

(I drain the water catcher on my auto every day and it's bone dry so I'm not really worried about the press, more so about the compressor).

Rust is normal. Is is a very harsh enviroment in that tank. Cool outside, hot compressed air being pushed into tank. The water sits on the bottom and the tank develops rust. Draining the tank everyday is the best, but I know I don't have the time.

Do you have a inline filter installed after the air leaves the tank?

You can put on a auto drain, works on a timer.
Thinking around $50.

Yep, that's what I do if I had an automatic.
Although having the discipline to drain it everyday is commendable...I have seen many smaller compressors with bottoms that looked like Swiss cheese.

You shouldn't be worried as long as your inline water separator is dry.

Thanks guys,

I have a filter and regulator coming out of the compressor, then a refridgerated air dryer, then a filter again, then a filter and regulator which is connected to the press.

I drain the tank every day, about an ounce comes out, my plumber said I can drain it every 2 weeks or a month, but I'd rather just drain a little at a time daily.
