Discuss the different types of equipment needed for screen printing. Topics include manual screen printing presses, automatic presses, dryers, folding machines, starter kits and high end machines.
Vastex offers some basic models that are high qualtity, but there are many economical printers out there. Just type "screen printing equipment" in your browser search box, and you'll get many results.
Epson 1400 is a very common positive printer, it can print up to 13x19 and has many accessories available (sublimation inks, CIS systems, etc). They are pretty reasonable, I got mine for $260 with some coupons from Officemax after they matched pricing.
I would suggest the Epson 4880. We just got ours and love it. We use the Epson film and ink. Also, we just sent in for our $400.00 rebate. This printer prints up to 17" wide on roll or sheet..although, we found the rolls work the best. Very professional printer for the money. We got ours at Pro Digital Gear. You can google them. I do not have the number in front of me. Very knowledgeable and their prices on the ink and film were the best...printer too. Hope this helps.

how about the epson 3000? Is that a good printer forfilm positives?
Love mine. Fidgety sometimes, but a great printer. Maybe not the best, but it can use cheaper non water-proof film. Prints up to 17" wide.
Look for a good refurb on eBay or somewhere like inkjetdoctor.com
Be wary of used ones out there on Craig's List, etc. The 3000 is a beast of a printer and a SERIOUS pain if it doesn't work right. Buy it only if the seller can print a test pattern for you on the spot to check for clogs.
