Default epson 4000

i have a epson 4000. i need help trying to print. is there any way to print just the black. all my other cartridges are empty i dont wanna and color just black for positives. thanks

You can just print black, but in order for the printer to print, your color needs to have ink too.

thats what i was kinda trying to avoid. my other ink are very low and i dont use them well one finally is zero % and i cant print cause it gives me an error message. is there anyway way around this. thanks

If you're just using the black for positives you can put cleaning cartridges in the others which works out a lot cheaper. But you must have something there!

buy a chip reseter they cost around $25 and if you run out of a color cart you can reset it so the printer thinks its full and you can still print your black.

This will work as it tricks the printer into thinking there is ink in the cartridge, but be aware that if there is physically no ink in that cartridge you will no longer push ink through the head during head cleanings and run the risk of clogging the nozzles for that color.

I would recommend the cleaning fluid or going to a system that will allow you to print black from every channel.

your right i wouldn't use this as a permanent solution buy it is very helpful around 6pm on friday when you have a job the next day.

thanks i bought a chip resetter to get me buy so i can buy some more ink. the shipping was faster than the ink so i went with the quickest solution. can anyone suggest a good place to buy some ink fairly priced the cartridges are soi expensive.

at superjetusa refillable carts are $130 and ink is cheap too.
