Just looking for everyone's opinion on Conveyor Dryers. I'm a little lost on all the specs. I'm just looking for one that does 50+ shirts / hour for under $3000. If I can get a new one for that price, that would be great, but if I have to go used in order to get a quality unit then I will.
The least expensive unit I've found was the Little Buddy, I know Vastex makes one for slightly more money but I know nothing about it's quality or performance. Any advice is MUCH appreciated.
If you go with the Little Buddy, get the 3000 watt version. Its a 5' dryer around $2100 or so and rated to cure 96 shirts an hour. A better way to go (for under 3k) would be the BBC Econo Cure. Its an 8' dryer with twice the chamber length and double the watts of the little buddy. Well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I used a black body for years. Heres a link Pocono Mt. Screen Supply - Products - A.W.T. - Dryers & Drying Equipment
This dryer was a workhorse for me When it did breakdown parts were fornd at the local electrical shop. I also bought the Black body flash unit and I found out they both use the same element
You can also look at Jennings at www.rjennings.com I have a press that cost 2400 and can do up to 150 shirts per hour. As your shop grows so can your dryer.
I don't see a lot of specs on the R Jennings, but I do know he makes good equipment. Remember, the longer the chamber, the better the ink will cure, or should I say, there is less room for error especially when you're using a thicker layer of ink like white. Here is a link to the BBC Econo Cure I was talking about: EconoCure 6100 Watt 8 Foot Conveyor Dryer (24" Wide) by BBC . Also, the thing I like about BBC (Black Body) is that they are a DRYER company. That is their specialty. They aren't spread thin over 100's of products. They've built their company entirely based on dryers and have a darn good reputation. About 2 weeks ago I was in a Wells Fargo and saw their name on a wall mounted Heater. Good Luck.
I have the little buddy. Good dryer, great cure. I'm in my basement so I needed a smaller dryer, but if you have room I would recommend getting something with a wider belt. 18" is kind of small especially with the larger shirts. I use a M&R max-cure dryer with a 36" belt at work and it makes things a ton easier, but that dryer cost a good 8 or 10 grand. The black body dryer mentioned above is a good choice. I'm going to try and upgrade to that dryer if silkscreeningsupplies.com allows me to exchange it for the black body and chance the price of my lease. If anyone knows if that's possible let me know (i dont mean to thread jack).
I'm looking at a Vastex EconoRed I - X SERIES Super Mini Dryer 30" belt 240 VOLT AND 120 VOLT SCRUB AIR attachment for 3,367.00 the SCRUB AIR ATTACHMENT adds about 375.00 to the price so it would be under 3000.00. for just the drier
Is that that 5.5' model? How much is the crate fee?
