Discuss the different types of equipment needed for screen printing. Topics include manual screen printing presses, automatic presses, dryers, folding machines, starter kits and high end machines.
Hey there again, I would like to know if this looks like a good package to start off with. I have no experience and am very eager to get going. I live in South Africa where supplies are not as easily available. If anyone could tell me if i would need anything else added to the package or if it is a good way to go to start out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Micro-registration is an anti-hairloss treatment.
You might get that joke in awhile.
With no experience, I'd suggest finding a Speedball
kit or something of the like, possibly available
locally. Find a screen printing shop and ask for some
old wood frames. Screw a door hinge into them and to
a piece of wood. Bam, one color press. You'll quickly
learn whether or not you love the process enough
(required) to stick with it and get some real equipment.
No offense meant, but many, many, people "want to
print shirts" and go out and spend a million dollars on
"semi-pro" stuff they never even use once. I wonder
how many attics and garages are stuffed with unused
screen printing equipment?
ummmmmm thanks? Actually, Im very excited about my new venture and am taking it very seriously, it is something I have wanted to do for years and am TRYING TO LEARN as much as I can online. Thank you very much for your help.
Marisa,
You might find some useful advice on the frequently asked questions pages at t-shirtforums here and here. You'll also come up with a ton of posts just by typing in "screen printing start-up" into the search box. You'll find a wealth of information on every screen printing press, including the one you asked about in your post, just by typing it into the search box.
I'd be happy to help answer any questions you might have, and I'm sure everyone else would too.
