Discuss the different types of equipment needed for screen printing. Topics include manual screen printing presses, automatic presses, dryers, folding machines, starter kits and high end machines.
You get what you pay for. There is a reason it is less than half the price of the V2000. My personal opinion (which is probably worth what you paid for it), is that if this is your first press and you are looking to learn it is not a bad starting point. However you will outgrow it. I don't think there is any new press out there for $2000 which will be an ideal production press.
I would save up for a better press or look for used. Just my thoughts. See if there is a place or trade show coming up that you can see one. Then you can decide better for yourself.
There are Riley Hopkins presses that you can get for under $2000. Are you sold on the Vastex? If not look around. There are lots a great used presses and even some new within your budget.
I am trying to find a good press that does not cost alot. Any thoughts on the Vastex V1000 entry level press?
Just to consider.
When you purchase a manual press think about shipping. A 6 color 4 station press will weigh at least half a ton so it needs to be delivered by truck unless you can drive or rent a van.
If you live in a residential area they will charge you extra for delivery and the lift gate.
It can get more expensive right quick this way. So check out different scenarios. Take your time and don't let anybody rush you into a decision.

The V-1000 can be shipped via UPS boxes and is very easy to assemble. Yes I work for the company but I just wanted to point out that it does NOT have to be shipped freight.

I actually purchased a 6/4 V-1000 over the weekend and Vastex was great and completely knowledgeable about their presses.
I still can't believe that Mike was able to break that press down and fit it into my car which is a VW Passat.
I should add that I am not bashing Vastex products, I own and am very satisfied with a V2000 6-6, and an ECII-30 dryer.
They make great products and offer great customer support.
Yes those V2000 are sweet presses. If I had the room I would have purchased one of those. I was drooling over one at their manufacturing facility in Allentown, PA.
im based in the UK so had to import mine but I have a Hopkins BWM 8/4 convertible, and a Workhorse 6/6.
They are both excellent presses, I would say the Hopkins BWM is the best press ive ever experienced apart from an M&R.
Ive heard mixed press about the Riley Hopkins. I know for a fact the joystick registration is not all its cracked up to be. Its not precise or reponsive enough (overly jerky and it sticks after time), I think it costs like $300 more to have the standard micros installed.
