Discuss the different types of equipment needed for screen printing. Topics include manual screen printing presses, automatic presses, dryers, folding machines, starter kits and high end machines.
Not bad for a startup . you will have to be very precise with your screen burning because the screen heads don't look very forgiving registration wise.It helps alot with multi-color designs if your press has a little wiggle room for lining up.In other words up,down and side to side.If your screen is off and you can't move it down, you'll have to re-burn.
Not a awful problem but thats why I like M&R equipment.Looks like it's in nice shape though. If thats you're budget then go for it.
looks like my first press (in the back shed collecting dust). . . this is a homemade press . . . you can tell by the stand that it is on . . . Registration will be your biggest problem. If you get it ask a welder to make you a print head with side clamps this will allow you to have this wiggle room to register. I had my first press into production for 3 years. I just moved into better equipment.
I have a $3000.00 which machine would you recommend if purchasing the M&R equipment? I would like to have something that is at least a little forgiving as I am new to this.
M&R Blue Max. Great work horses and very easy registration. It has the side clamps the other guy was talking about and they slide. You probably will have a hard time finding one in good shape though, but it's worth a try.
I kinda figured out they were manual presses, just thought this was some type of code wording...
I've been trying to read all the info I can on screen printing, even thinking about taking some classes on it. When I tell you I'm new, I really mean I'm new.
Thank you for all of your help. I guess I will pass on this piece of equipment for something easier and made better.
I'm from Orlando and I bought from this guy. I think he's located in Deland. He sold me a flash kit, exposure unit and the press. for 1,500 all wrapped up to make it look like its brand new, But its not worth a penny. It is definitely homemade and parts from Home Depot. The press is so bad, that it couldnt hold the screen, so it dropped down when I had a screen held. He advertises on craigslist all over florida.. BEWARE
thank you so much for that information. He told me he purchased this new earlier this year for his daughter who decided not to use it. I ask him where did he get it from and he said from Crown a place in Ridgefield, NJ. I've looked all over the net and can't find a screen manufacturer named Crown. He said it was new so and never used so I ask if he could get me some paper work or instruction manual. He said that screen printers don't need manuals, they assume that if you are purchasing you know how to put it together. What really got me is that he said he could not take a paypal payment so now I'm thinking something is going on, just couldn't put my finger on it.
Omg!!! He said the same exact story crown or
Krown in new jersey... And his daughter had a little shop but didn't
Use it. This is a scam.. How
Can we prevent from selling more of these crappy useless presses?
Okay, what about this machine? There is a guy on this board selling it for $2500.00 would this be considered a good purchase for a beginner? Thank you all for your help.
