sorry i'm new to all this, but a vacuum for the screen or a vacuum for the heat? Can you make one easily?
Can i ask what image size you are using and how far it is away? I'm thinking about a 15" by 15" image so the light would need to be a little more than 21" away? Thanks again.

The vacuum in your exposure unit. It holds your screen against the glass. Yes, it is necessary, unless you're using (inferior) weight methods to maintain contact between glass and film/screen.
