Default Curing

I need to know if a flash dryer will cure plastisol as well as water based inks. What works best?

Default Re: Curing

yeah, a flash will cure both but with plastisol, the ink must reach a temp of 320 (through the whole layer of ink deposit - will be a little hotter on the surface) which is simple, but with waterbased, the water must be evaporated out of the ink for it to properly bond. Because of this, there are special types of flash dryers that have fans built into them that force air onto the shirt and blow out the evaporating water to reduce curing times and improve efficiency. if you are using a regular flash then make sure you blow on the print and let it cure for a couple min at a little over 300 and make sure the shirt doesn't burn. Blow on the inside of the shirt so the steam comes out... there will be a lot of steam too.

hope that helps
