Default Re: which hat printing attachment

Much of it depends on what types of hats you plan to print. My hat attachment is just a flat one that attaches to my press. It is relatively narrow, so it *can* work on low profile caps... and for 6-panel caps - get ready for this - I have a piece of a koozie with a groove in the center that I attach to it with some spray adhesive. Works as well as a grooved platen. Regardless of what anyone says about their product, it takes a whole lot of effort and concentration to print a 6-panel without getting a lot of buildup around and in the groove of the cap.

My attachment is a low-cost option... but in the past I have worked on large orders with a CAPS brand printer. It had the hold-down flap and curved platen like the hat champ... but also some curved screens to go with it. It was a high-dollar press, and I suppose it did a great job... but I find that I can get just as good results with the low-cost platen. I just have to print the caps one at a time.
