does anyone know where to buy those heat resistant silicone rubber for the platens? I currently use the ryonet silver press and just wanted to upgrade the standard platens that came with the press.

Check your local yellow pages for either a wholesaler or retailer of insulation products. Most will carry high temp silicone and rubber for pads. A heat press that goes to max. 400 degrees is considered low temp. They can cut it to your dimensions.

I understand that rubber pallets allow the printer to do brighter and more saturated image in one stroke compared to other pallet materials. Aside from that, what other advantages does it provide. Rubber by nature, is meant to soften and melt when subjected to prolonged heat exposure, isn't it?

Rubber insulating material can easily withstand 400 degrees. Depending on what you purchase it can withstand up to 1,800 degrees. Usually used for gasket material in furnaces. You can purchase it in different thicknesses. You can also get high temp. adhesive to attach it to the platen.

I am still new to this printing business, recently I saw a T-shirt that was printed with a rubber like material/Hard somewhat flexible plastic. Does anyone know what that material is called, where to find it (websites) and how to transfer it to the garment.
