Default Inkjet vs laser printers? for silk screening

Hello!

Laser vs inkjet for screen printing. I can only seem to find info for heat transfer.
I have a lexmark inkjet and I used 20% of an ink cart, = $7.40 in one design!

1) Do you use laser or inkjet?
2) Which model do you recommend for a home business silk screening?
3) On average, approx how much ink do you use per sheets?

THANK YOU!!

1) I use inkjet
2) I use the Epson 1400 and recommend it due to its price, availability and ability to print up to 13x19 films. Another bonus to this printer is the 6 ink cartridges. When I print with the Epson I set it to grayscale which only uses the black cartridge. They're not very expensive and mine has lasted a while. You can also get these printers customized so you can fill all cartridges with black ink.
3) I have yet to determine this. It is hard because each logo is different. I once saw an excel sheet on here that gave info about ink usage per sq. inch, but I didn't bookmark the thread and have been unable to find it since.

1.injet(i feel lays down a better positive than laser)
2.Epson 1400 also best for its price and i picked it up with an all black CIS system for 280.00 off ebay
3.someone projected about 7 cents for a full color photo with one of these CIS systems

wow awsome thread guys as im contemplating buying a laser or inkjet and from all the previous views on this forum regarding this topic, the concensus was that the oki CC5500 laser was the best. As of this week i had started to look around where i can import the oki CC5500 from but then reading this thread im in 2minds again and will have to do more investigation. The epson 1400 that you guys have suggested seems like a go though as it can print large size films which is wot most of my clients want(A4, A3 and A2's).
As my budget is kind of tight do you guys recommend looking around on ebay for this equipment. And for you guys that have bought your equipment on ebay is it a trustworthy way to buy equipment? sori but ive never bought anything on ebay so thats why am seeking your opinions. Thanks you all for the time you take to reply.
kind regards

I forgot to mention that in my experience, laser is not very good for multiple color registration. The heat that binds the toner to the sheet can slightly warp the sheets, which can make correct registration nearly impossible (or at least a big headache).

wow thank you! I just searched my local craigslist and found one for $200 including some ink. Going to pick it up in an hour or so! woo hoo!

What does all black CIS system mean? I could guess but thought I might as well ask.

Continuous Ink Supply they are these tanks that hold the ink and have tubes that lead into the cartridges. All black is just that the tanks have black ink in them instead of the normal colors of a printer.
