Hi, we've been seriously thinking about buying a garment printer. We're leaning toward Brother, but just received info on Advantage Sawgrass system today. The sample from Advantage looks pretty good (haven't washed it yet). We've had Brother print our files at a couple shows last summer - took home and washed them with great results. Any thoughts on comparisons of these 2 units? Thanks.
Id be interested in hearing if anyone here has heard of it......if not, or if they dont have any experience with it, Id stick with the Brother. But we have a brother......and I wouldnt switch it for anything!
If u want do black shirts , think in anajet also it got the same head then brother but anajet can print in dark shirts and white, if u want more information go in anajet digital printing.
The Anajet is based off an Epson R1800 and only has one print head with 8 channels. The Brother has a much bigger print head (in size of ink density it can deliver) and it runs 4 different print heads (one for each CMYK colors).

Digital Art Solutions is selling the printer - guess it's actually called DirectAdvantage. Smaller than the Brother, and says its "White Ink Ready". I'm not sure if it's necessary to have white ink or not, but would be nice, I guess. You're very happy with Brother? That's what we were planning on buying. Good to hear from a customer, not just a salesman that you actually like it and are making money with it!! I think you have to buy a new Brother when white ink is ready, but not sure. Oh, by the way, does Brother print in pastel inks - pink, grey, pale yellow, etc? Thanks
Thank you to everyone who replied. Still leaning toward Brother. Going to see it again in Columbus, OH NNEP show in April. Hope there are others to see at this show as well.
I had another epson based printer first. It wasn't for me. We now own a Brother. LOVE IT! It can print a full color range (pastel, etc.) on light color shirts. Also, you can print on colored shirts as long as the ink is darker than the shirt - black on red, blue, etc. Also can print a full range of colors on most light shirts, including pastel shirts. It is reliable and fast. Highly recommended!

We have the Brother and Love it. I saw the Direct Advantage at the SGIA show and got a sample, not impressed. It looked more gray than white (the ink). Several of the places that carry it said it was white ink ready but they did not have it set up for white because they said honestly they did not feel it was quite there yet (meaning the white ink)
Don't know if that helps or not. I would love to have one that prints white but too many horror stories for me. I'll stick with my Borther

Thanks, it most definitely does help. I just washed the sample Dig. Art sent me, and I'm not really happy with it either. It's better than some I've gotten, but not quite as good as Brother. We're going to NNEP in Ohio in April to see the Brother again. Glad to hear so many people really love it. The only negatives I've heard are from people who don't actually have a brother, ie can't print white ink, etc. Everyone who replies and has a brother really loves their machines. Just a little nervous at the big investment - we're a small shop in a small (500 people) town. Hope we will be able to market it well!! Thanks again!

When is the show in Ohio?
Is there a website.
Seriously if you talk to Brian at Direct to shirt he is great to talk to. That is where we got our Brother and I am so glad we bought it. I wish I had know about them sooner actually.
You cannot ask for better people than Brian and Alan

The show is April 10-12 in Dublin (Columbus) Ohio. Look on NNEP - National Network of Embroidery Professionals for the details. Actually, I'm not sure if it is actually on the 10th or if I just wrote it on my calendar for travel time! We went last year - it was in St. Louis, MO and was very good. It's held in the Embassy Suites hotel - each vendor has a hotel room, which works very well. Much better than I would have thought. The show costs $10 or $20 a person, I forget, but details are on NNEP site. If you're already in Ohio, it would be great for you. It's a good show. Is Direct to Shirt the name of the company Brian is at? We will definitely look for them. Last show we went directly to the Brother booth. Thanks for your info.
The site did not print in my message. I'll type it out in words, as it changed address to something else in my message. 3w nnep dot net Hope that helps. (obviously no spaces)

Yes it is Direct 2 shirt. I do not know if he will be there or not but you can call him and find out. I hope I am not doing anything wrong by putting this on here but his website is direct2shirt.com
I think to compare the machines you just have to ask yourself if you want to print white ink. If so then Anajet comes out top because the brother cannot. If you onlly want to print on whites/lights then the reviews seem to show that the brother is the better choice
