Default Do you stock a large inventory of shirts?

We are just getting into Rhinestone Transfers and have purchased a good number from different companies.
We have been canvassing our frequent customers on what kind of shirts they like and the answers were quite varied.
Suffice to say, that we would need to have a considerable stock to satisfy all our customers and we simply don't have the spare cash to invest.
Our temporary answer is to stock a few colors, sizes and styles that we think a majority might like. If the customer want's something special, they can bring the garment in or at least that is what our thoughts are. We have a Joanns and a Wal-Mart within 4 miles of our store.

How do most of you handle this? We really don't have the room or inclination to be a T-Shirt Store, since we are already established as a quilt store. We just wanted to add Rhinestones as a new service for our store.

Just my 2 cents. Inventory will kill you if you try to stock all the shirts you need. I would set up accounts with a few suppliers that ship blanks same day.

I usually add extra blanks in case of misprints. Usually 1-2 blanks per dozens, misprints happen. When you don't misprint, you have extra inventory that builds up, so what I do is offer them to other customers, or make promo shirts. They are already paid for anyways. Never buy new inventory just to hold onto.

I agree with them - setup a couple of accounts and ship the shirts in once or twice a week. Select a house shirt for Round neck, V neck, and tank keep a few on hand and then if the customer wants something else let them know that it is special order and when you will have it ready - Having them bring in their own shirt is a great idea also.

Good Luck!
