Ok so if i get a 9800 and want to do heat transfers do i then need a cutter as well and how does that all work since it is not all in one like the roland? Also would anyone know what someone would charge if i had them do the heat transfers for me if i did not get the 9800?

Only if you want to use the cutter to do a contour cut around the heat transfer design to remove some of the outline from the heat transfer paper.

Some people use scissors or a razor to trim around the design, so a cutter isn't absolutely necessary.

A vinyl cutter is nice to have for other reasons though (like the ability to cut vinyl decals and heat transfer t-shirt vinyl for simple 1-2 color designs)
