Pretty Much! Epsons are great but i feel it works best with pigment ink. Although some have had success with dye ink, my results were not so great with dye ink which is why i recommend to make sure the printer uses pigment ink.

I just bought an Epson 1400 for inkjet transfers. Someone from Ryonet advised me to switch to another type of ink once the Claria runs out. I'm guessing they meant pigment ink? So can I just put the pigment ink in? No issues with a different ink? Do I have to change all the carts at once even if they are not all empty. And what is the best pigment ink to use? I have found that I was getting better transfers off my HP Officejet All-in-One. I am hoping it's the ink!

Check out the refill carts and heat transfer pigment inks available from inkjet carts, inkjetfly or other vendors. You need to change the carts all at once.
