Discuss the different brands, makes and models of printers used to print inkjet and laser heat transfers. Also includes information on the inks that can be used to make your own transfers.
I am wondering what the best setup would be for under $2500 for a printer to do T-Shirts and such. No Sublimation prints. I had problems with my Oki and sent it back.
I am looking at the Richoh GX7000 with plenty of extra ink or a Epson 4880.
There may be others...what do you guys think?

What sort of printing are you doing, heat transfers? My Epson 1400 works like a charm and can print up to 13x19 sheets. I use a CIS ink system and print all of my transfers and film positives with it.

I have a credit that is limited to 1 printer up to around $2000 and nothing else. I can't throw $1700 away to get a $300 printer (I love the Epson 1400 by the way). This is why I am considering the Epson Stylus Pro 4880 ColorBurst Edition Large-format Printer. Need to get all I can for under or around $2500.

Alright...we went with a Xerox Phaser 8860. The Xerox utilizes a crayon like wax based ink which makes it super cost efficient. Printing color is basically same price as printing black. It is supposed to be very user friendly. I will be printing a lot of brochures with it.
