Question What Printer would you recommend for Custom Prints?

Hey guys
I am in the middle of trying to get all the bits and bobs together to start printing my custom designs for sublimation printing. I have been trauling endlessly through topics and now my eyes are 'burning' hehehe

So what printer would you recommend as a starter to get things rolling??

Try a local print shop in your area. It helps out your community and you'll save on shipping. Also you can work together on a more personal level.

What do you want to sublimate? If you are going to be doing only shirts the Ricoh 5050, 7000, and the Epson 1400 are good printers to begin with.

Ricoh 5050 uses SubliJet ink and has 4 carts...black, cyan, magenta and yellow. It will print up to 8.5 x 14 paper. General all use sublimation paper is suggested.

Ricoh 7000 also uses sublijet inks and has 4 carts. You can print up to 13 x 19 paper if you get the extra paper tray. General all use paper is recommended.

Epson 1400 prints up to 13 x 19 and has 6 carts...black, cyan, magenta, yellow, lt. cyan and lt. magenta. A general all use paper, text print or JetCol paper can be use. I use the Jet Col paper on anything fabric. The images really pop out.

Epson 4880 ( it is my favorite) prints up to 17 x 22 sheet paper and 17" roll paper. A general all use paper, text print or JetCol paper can be use. I use the Jet Col paper on anything fabric. The images really pop out.

Please feel free to call me if you have any other questions. I will be happy to help

sorry hehe, I misunderstood. I have an epson stylus pro 4800, although I don't dabble with sublimation, this printer is amazing. Expensive, yet compared to what i've used in the past, well worth it. Epson also has good customer support wich is an important matter to consider when shopping.
