Oki C8800n Large Format Laser Printer... Awesome Price!
I understand that OKI has a new printer that replaces this one, so probably the reason for the lower prices.
In any case... an excellent printer at $2200... even better at $1200-$1400!
Brett
I just went to the link you provided and the printers are now $957.55. Is this printer high quality and did you have any issues with your purchase from this company? Where do you purchase replacement toner? Thank you!

Thanks for the reply Brett. Have you ever used an inkjet? I have one now and am interested in the advantage of using a laser printer over an ink jet. I am very frustrated with my ink jet which is why i am looking at printers. Also, as far as papers go, which paper do you recommend for use with the 8800? Thanks again for your help.

I never used an inkjet. Started with a large format laser printer for speed and convenience.

I am only using image clip papers at the moment.
Brett
Is image clip paper for dark and lights? How does the ink hold up in the wash (does it fade at all)? How does the "hand" feel on the shirt after the image is transferred? Thanks again.
and they have the printer for $999.00 and free shipping. Since I live in CA I wasn't charged tax, so I saved another $100.00 on that. So, bottom line, $999.00 for the printer, delivered. I just ordered it a few minutes ago.
I'm counting on your recommendation I hope it's a good printer. Now I have to buy a heat press. Care to tell me what you use?

I use Geo Knight 16" x 20" Digital Air-Operated Swinger ... press two buttons and it presses the shirt. Even automatic pre-pressing if you like... SWEEEET!

Cool. (or maybe i mean hot). I'm looking at between the Hotronix Auto-Open Clam 16x20 or the GeoKnight Swinger 16x20. I don't need air compressor assist. Knowing what you know, which would you get? The prices are essentially the same. I notice the GeoKnight is hugemongusly heavy at 250lbs or so, compared to the 110 lbs for the Hotronix.

Update on my Okidata Laser Printer purchase: no luck. The 8800n was apparently shipped to the wrong address, and I had to contact greatprinterdeals.com to find out what was going on. They don't answer their phone, so i had to email them. They answered back within 20 minutes and explained the issue and so I gave it another week. But after a few more emails with no results, and no timetable of when to expect it, I had to cancel the order. I don't think greatprinterdeals.com was trying to screw me, but their customer service could have been a little better. They left me hanging too long not knowing if the issue was resolved or not, if another printer was being shipped, or if they found the original one, or whatever. I ordered the printer on Nov. 20, and still had no printer by Dec 9, and no message telling me what was going on. So I pretty much had to cancel the $1,000.00 order. Oh well.
