Default Inkjet vs. Laser HELP..

Hello everyone,

Although I am a new member as of today, I've been consistently reading blogs and doing research for some time now. I haven't found exactly the answer I'm looking for in regards to the best method of Transfer Paper Printing.

What do you recommend as far as printing to transfer paper? Laser or Inkjet? Which is more durable?

Any recomendations for a printer would be great! Thank you in advance for your replies!

I personally use inkjet printer and as with every consumer and manufacturer, there's always have a debate on which is better or best. Since I use inkjet, it's only fair for me to give you info for inkjet. If you browse through the forum, you would notice that most of them use epson, I use epson r1800 which is now replaced by R1400. I think because of price and capability of printing 13" x 19", it gives you more bang for your money. Even few of dtg in the market are based on epson engine or even modified epson printers to dtg. But this doesn't mean that you can cross off other inkjet printers. If you already have an inkjet printer, try getting paper samples from transfer paper vendor and try them out. Goodluck!

Thank you for your quick reply. I will continue to research but at least you have given me a reference point! Oh, I was wondering how much a replacement cartdrigde would be for your printer. Thanks.

I'm using bulk system so I'm not exactly sure how much per cartridge, I would say between $8 - $10 per cartridge, that should yield you a good amount of print and remember that you don't have to print heavy or saturate your print to get a good result, most of the time, normal settings are just fine.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have not been able to find hardly any information on laser transfers, it seems everyone uses inkjet or bubble jet printers. does anyone here use laser?
