Default Help in finding one

Okay, so i've done a little searching around and it seems that any printer (from epson) even the cheapest ($60) ones from their site seems to work. I would like to get a second opinion, where can i get a printer around that price that works the best for me? I mean I'm probably gonna print on light, but sometimes black. I'm probably gonna use durabrite ink. I need a printer to go along with my 15x15 transpro (it's just like sunie and the rest right?) clampshell, jetpro/imagejet/clearsoft transfer paper (gonna use all 3, but i'm probably only gonna stick to 2). So if anyone can recommend something to me or find me a great deal (including the durabrite ink i was hoping for $100, but we'll see) that would be much appreciated.

On a side note (as if i haven't asked enough): white seems to be a problem for me, I've searched around and all i see is these settings for printers and percentages, so if there is a guide that i missed or if someone could explain to me indeph, i'd be much appreciated for your help. (But main problem is getting the printer!!!! I know i ask for much, thanks for reading though).

hi,

we were getting through 3/4 epson printers a year so looked for alternatives for transfer printing.

It may sound silly but our solution was to buy the cheapest inkjet printer available from PC world (HP were the cheapest at the time) and run them into the ground.

We find inks are cheaper (and we dont have to worry about durabrite etc) and we have also found that HP give much better print offs! By doing this we save a fortune over buying epsons because even entry level printers last a reasonable amount of time!

Okay, that being true, any recommendations on which version and inks i should use? I'm sure by cheapest you meant the cheapest compatible to the ink that you use that can withstand hundreds of wash cycles and normal wear right?

we have been using genuine HP inks rather than compatible ones. We can get HP ink at a reasonable price so it has been working well for us.

When we got our first Epson CX66 (durabrite inks) we thought it was the bees knees. The durabrite 'system' isn't really any better or worse than any printers genuine ink. we've been wash testing our current cheap HP system against some work we did with our last epson printer and they are neck and neck at the moment.

Our printers are HP deskjet25060's and deskjet f4272's thet use the same genuine HP inks which have been great to use so far.

it may not be the solution for everyone but it has been a real help for us!
