Default Curious about HP

I have a question about HP printers. I trying to venture into this business and I was wondering if anyone had any info on a HP Photosmart C6380 All in one printer.

I happen to have gotten one recently and was wondering if this was a decent printer to use to make heat transfers with? Or do I need to also invest in a printer?

Thanks so much for any advice, this site has been so helpful.

I have a similar question but i have the HP 1000 photosmart . i'd rather not buy another printer since i have 4 in my house already .. lexmark, 2 hps and an epson

Can I just buy the ink required ? I know HP ink wont stay , only wash away after 2-3 washes .. thats what someone else posted a while ago ..

hey people, my first post......

i live in the South of England, wanting to do some heat pressed t-shirt transfers, ive got my plotter/cutter heat press on order and looking to buy a printer, ive done alot of research on this site but thought we could revist these questions for us newbies. Q: am i right in thinking i can walk into my local Staples and buy pretty much any printer suitable for printing on to transfer paper? does it have to be a certain type or anything special about it, and does the ink need to be specifically for transfer paper, any comments would be much appreciated.

mamazlilmonsterz & Freakazeenie

I have a Hp all-in one that I used to test JPSS. I printed two transfers on one t-shirt side by side. One transfer was with the HP and the other was with the Epson C88+. The test shirt has been washed about 20 times and the transfer with the HP has no more fading than the Epson.
When dealing with inkjet transfers I think the ink makes a big difference. Pigment ink is best but others here and myself had had success with dye ink.
The best way to no for sure is to perform a controlled test.

Epson seems to be the favorite here for inkjet printing and yes you can walk into staples and pick up a printer. If you do not need the printer now I would go to Epson.com and search the clearance center as they have printers for about $50 and they ship for free.

Good Luck All!
Katrina

Excuse my ignorance, as I am extremely new to all of this but what does JPSS mean? Also, can you use other inks in an HP printer? I think it was asked but never really addressed. I have a Photosmart C6380, is this an ok printer to use to start up?

Thank you soooooooo much for your patience!!!
