Default black ink issues

Hi hope someone can help me ....Im currently using an epson stylus 1400 to print my transparencies for exposing my screens but the printer is not printing the black ink dark enough. It is allowing light to pass. does anyone know how to set up the printer so that it puts down more black ink. any help would be appreciated.....................Thanks

I also am using an Epson 1400. I have to print out two transparencies and stick together with clear selotape, i then hold up to a window and IF I see any pin holes i just black marker them to touch up...works for me

Try using best photo mode and photo paper selection to lay more ink down.

Hi, try using AccuRIP Software (its free for 14 days and there are no watermarks) it has an option to let you choose how much ink is used in the printing process.

Medium ink deposit works fine for me and you will get real dark and crisp films.

Hope that helped

Chris

The inks may well be dense enough in the uv whilst allowing visible light through.
Epson add uv block to the ink.

You need to use an ink jet film specifically design for screen printing film positives. You'll never be able to achieve the right opacity with this printer using regular transparencies.

We use: Film and Supplies | Screen Printing | Victory Factory (around $1 per sheet for a 13" x 18"). For the Epson 1400, it's my preferred inkjet film to use.

If you're printing all spot colors, you can print without having to use a RIP using this film. Just set the brightness and contrast settings of the printer to the lowest settings (-25).

If you're printing halftones, the only way to do it is by using a RIP. We use AccuRip and it works great (about $450).

Using the different types of paper in the "type" setting changes the amount of ink on the paper.
