Question C88 & C120 printing heat transfers

I have both the C88 and C120 with Durabrite inks and will be using them mostly for heat transfers such as JPSS. Been reading the threads and I'm confused. Should I be using special color settings, etc on these printers for the best results? If so, do those settings change with the type of paper used? I don't want to waste tons of transfer paper and shirts trying to figure it out. Thanks.
