Default new c3400 with techni-print, is "Splotchy" a word?

I used heavy paper setting, and ran about ten blank pages through before printing. The design itself is kind of an burnt orange sunburst color. When it prints, it has light-colored splotchy areas going across the page. I tried other paper settings and tried changing some of the color settings, to no avail. Actually, with each print, the splotchyness became more and more evident.

Any suggestions?

My first thoughts…
-Try transparency or label paper mode.
-Make sure that the short edge of the paper is feeding into the printer first. (if you have cut 11x17 in half, use the long side first)
-Use the bypass try on the printer.
(make sure to try all of these together)

-If none of these work, check the drums on the printers.

Sounds like the drum, belt or the fuser rollers is dirty. Try cleaning with laser cleaning sheet. You can buy it from staples, home depot or office supply store. It is a special paper saturated with some sort of alcohol mixture. Does the splotchy color predominantly one type? Cyan, Magenta, Yellow or black? Try printing one color at a time on a standard printer paper to see which drum is causing it. Maybe one of the drum have a defective the photo sensitive roller.
