Default textile ink in 1280

has anyone ever tried using white textile ink in a 1280? i know that a few dtg machines are based off of epson and some of them use white ink,but i was wondering if you could use it on a smaller machine like the 1280?

You are right, most dtg machines are based off of epson printers. The thing that makes the white ink work well on dtg machines is the rip software, as it allows the printer to lay down a heavier layer of ink. If you were to try and print white ink without the rip software, I think you would have a really hard time getting it to have enough coverage.

ok not a problem i can get rip software but what im planning to do wont need any rip software. i have two 1280,s im gonna load one with regular pigment inks the other one with white textile inks in both carts. then using light transfer paper,i can first lay down my pigment ink image followed by the same image but this ti,e printed in white textile ink. that way i can do dark shirt without that rubbery hand you get from dark transfer sheets. i think it s a great idea, credit given to da guide ( i think) it was his idea .
