Default Print Is NOT same color as showing on screen

Ok so recently i bought a CIS system for inkjetcarts.us. I installed it properly and everything was going fine. As soon as i started printing i noticed the colors on the print do not match the colors on my monitor in photoshop. They aren't even close. MUCH Darker.

When i was printing using the OEM inks from Epson i didn't make any printer preference changes and they turned out exactly how they look on my monitor.

I did a little test in photoshop by drawing test lines of different shades of green...when i printed them, they all printed the same shade of green. Also blue is printing as purple.

Anyone know what i can do? I read something about the ICC profile or something?

I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks.

An ICC profile is a calibration file that takes into account ink, printer and substrate.
You have changed inks - they may be darker.
You may have changed substrate, the inks may be spreading more.
Make sure your printer is not losing any nozzles, then get an ICC profile from your supplier or buy one on-line.
btw I bet your monitor isn't calibrated, so who's to say that is correct???????

That's where I was going, if you call Ross, he may have an ICC for you.

I wouldn't worry about the monitor too much. If it's the same monitor as before, and the results on the monitor printed pleasingly enough with the last printer... I'd focus more on the ICC profile for now.

The monitor is likely off, as most of our's are, from what I understand, but the monitor colors worked well enough with the other inks... that's all. I hope you find an ICC profile that works.

If they are just too dark, you could also work with the bright and contrast settings. Mine are usually too light, and I need to deepen them with those settings. The colors themselves are fine, just a bit bright and washed out. Hopefully, you find your resolution quickly enough, hope so. =)
